My name is Eloy Secundino, I was born in Mexico City , I came to the US at 6 years old, I’m the youngest of three brothers. I started boxing when I was 18 years old, how I got into it was because I used to be bullied and picked on in school, but I never wanted to look bad to others so I forced myself to fight. This would happen to me very often and after graduating high school, I felt I was good at fighting and decided to make a career out of it with boxing. I then joined a boxing gym in my neighborhood named “San Fernando boxing gym” at the time . Since 2011 to now 2026, I have been changing my current goal of what I like to say “get out of the hood” .. I saw my mom struggle with myself and two older brothers , waking up early morning, getting home late at night , to cook dinner for us and repeat every single day . Monday through Sunday , I saw her hardly ever have any days off and now , I want to repay everything she did for me and my brothers. I saw her work hard , sweat in the sun , trying to make money to keep a roof over our heads, and I feel like it’s now my turn to work hard at this and take care of my family . Life as an undocumented person isn’t easy but I am trying my best to stay positive and work hard at my goal, I have been doing this for 15 years and quitting for me, is not an option .
